Grade 80 Lifting Gear

Grade 80 Lifting Products - Lifting Chain Slings - G8 Safe Lifting Gear

Here at GS Products, your safety is paramount to us. All of our Grade 80 lifting gear are made from the highest quality materials and are tested to meet industry standards.

Our Grade 80 tested products are high strength, heat treated super alloy steel and feature a safety factor of 4:1. They are made to the highest BS EN specifications, they clearly state the working load limit (W.L.L), CE markings, batch identification and come with certification. Our Grade 80 lifting products have been prrof load tested to 2.5 times the W.L.L and have a fatigue rating of 20,000 cycles, they also feature a 100% magnaflux crack detection and all load pins have been individually inspected and tested.

We have Grade 80 chain, lifting chain slings, eye bolts, connectors, eye bolt and eye nuts, webbing links, lifting hooks and more available to buy online today, shipped from our Halesowen, West Midlands Warehouse.

What does Grade 80 mean?

Grade 80 (G80) or often referred to G8 lifting gear is the industrial benchmark for overhead lifting applications, manufactured from high-strength, heat-treated forged alloy steel.

The "80" designation means the material has a minimum tensile breaking strength of 800 N/mm². Grade 80 components are designed to balance heavy-duty durability, ductility, and safety across general construction and manufacturing environments

Is Grade 80 safe to use for Lifting applications?

Yes, Grade 80 chain and components are designed specifically for lifting applications. All our fittings are certified and complaint with BS EN 1677 standards

Grade 80 technical specifications

·       Safety Factor: Built with a strict 4:1 safety factor. The minimum breaking load is exactly four times the rated Working Load Limit (WLL).

·       Ductility: Designed to stretch by at least 20% before failure. This visual deformation serves as a critical warning indicator if the gear becomes overloaded.

·       Temperature Resistance: Operates reliably without any reduction in WLL across a broad temperature range, typically from -40°C up to 200°C.

·       Markings: Compliant gear must feature stamped identification marks like "8", "80" "G8", or "G80". Our Grade 80 fittings come supplied with CE markings, W.L.L markings and Batch markings for full traceability

Grade 80 Common Sizes & Load Limits

A chain's WLL goes up as its thickness (diameter) increases. Common sizes range from 8mm to 16mm, and working limits scale accordingly:

Chain Diameter

Working Load Limit (WLL)

8mm

2.00 tonnes

10mm

3.15 tonnes

13mm

5.30 tonnes

16mm

8.00 tonnes
